Q: What is your favorite strain of weed?

A: First crazy weed I ever saw, where I was just blown away, was Northern Lights. Where I grew up in NY, before the hazes and heady stuff started pouring in, you mainly had hydro and brick weed. This Northern Lights was something else. It was the first time I had some “next level” weed. We were paying like $560 an ounce for it, but it was worth it. Until this day, I’ve still never seen some stuff quite like that. Second option is Sour Diesel. I think a lot of people, like me, are just chasing that original sour. Sour was huge for me. There is nothing like that mouth coating of sour gas. For the third, I would have to say Cherry Pie. My friend had gotten his hands on some Cherry Pie from Cali, and it was so different from the Canadian Buds we had been getting at that point. That’s when I first really got the idea of what “Designer Weed” could really be.

Q: It’s 2:00 AM and you are high and hungry. What do you grab?

A: *Answers immediately without pause* I just grab some mochi out the freezer. I got that ice cream on deck. I keep Strawberry, Green Tea, and Vanilla at all times. I’m dead serious. And I’ll prolly watch some Anime with it.

Q: Favorite way to smoke?

A: Dutchmasters Palma. It’s an aesthetic thing for me. The feeling of smoking the dutch, the process of breaking it down and rolling it up, the pride taken when rolling it up. I do smoke a pipe from time to time, and dabs for when I’m lazy at night.

Q: What strains have you been enjoying recently?

A: I’ve been really digging the Kush Mints from Swell. That’s honestly been my daily driver. Also a lot of Animal Face from Lodestar. It’s got that creamy Gelato/Runtz smell and taste.

Q: What are you up to in your spare time?

A: I have a few Hobbies. I’m a musician, and right now I find songs and restructure them on my acoustic guitar with delay and reverb effects to make my own covers. I also like to stream on Twitch. Twitch doesn’t really have that stoner personality, and I think I can be that bridge.

Q: What have you been listening to lately for music?

A: Fall tour just wrapped up, and I’ve been listening to a lot of the sets from Phish. I like classic rock like Led Zepplin, Talking Heads, and Smashing Pumpkins. And For some newer stuff I like some jazzy/funk stuff like The New MasterSounds.

Q: What’s your next prediction for the Marvel Universe?

A: Whoa, Shit. *hits a joint and ponders* I think a bunch of crazy shit is going on with the multiverse right now. Kang the Conquerer, man. The next Ant-Man is gonna be huge.

Q: Where were you before The Gas Station?

A: I was a patient care representative for Veralife in NY. They are the dispensary brand for a big corporation called PharmaCan. I was living in NY State near Syracuse, and it was one of the only games in town in NY. NY doesn’t have as good of a Medical program as Maine’s. In NY, it

’s a lot of big corporations selling to “the patients they care about”, but it’s really all just for profit. It’s really sad.

Q: If you had to smoke one strain for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: *long pause* Dosidos. To me, Dosidos is the pure essence of og. The particular gassiness of dosidos is what I really like about the OGs.

Q: What is your favorite drink to pair with a joint?

A: Bourbon/Whiskey. For a special occasion, I like WhistlePig out of Vermont. It’s my favorite all-time whiskey. It’s a straight rye. *laughs* But honestly… usually just water.

Q: What are your hopes for the cannabis industry in Maine for the next 5 years?

A: I would like to continue the strong sense of small business and community. I like the large amount of small cultivators we have. I think that puts a stronger emphasis on quality with all of the competition. Coming from NY, it would be a shame to see larger corporations coming in and valuing their bottom line more than the quality of their product. Budtender Highlight : Vince Stapleton
